Running a business means a constant stream of work: follow-ups, research, reporting, triaging requests, routing tickets, scoring leads, chasing details across a dozen apps. Two new tools are aimed squarely at that work.

OpenAI's Dots, launched at DevDay this week, are always-on agents that handle tasks in the background on their own cloud computer.

TypeSafe's Jev, released last month, is a model built for the high-volume decisions inside your systems, returning a choice or score with a confidence level instead of text.

This is a demo and discussion session on what these tools can do for how you operate: what's worth adopting now, what to wait on, and how to tell the difference. Bring the tools you're already using and your opinions.

We'll explore:

  • What just shipped. The recent OpenAI announcements and the new TypeSafe model, and what each means for a working business.
  • Dots as a coworker. The open-ended work that piles up, such as research, follow-ups and bug triage, and what it looks like to hand it to an always-on agent.
  • Jev for decisions inside your process. Routing support requests, scoring leads, flagging invoices and sorting inbound work, with confidence scores that tell you when a human should step in.
  • Where to start. How to pick the first process worth automating, and how to measure whether it helped.
  • Trust and oversight. Approval rules, confidence thresholds and guardrails for software that acts while you're not watching, and how to test vendor claims yourself.

No prior background assumed. If you run a business, lead a team, or build the systems they rely on, this is for you.
Afterwards we usually continue over dinner nearby, a good chance to connect with fellow builders and practitioners.
