HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! 🐣🎶
To celebrate the long weekend, I’ll be hosting a special joint Intermediate + “4 Strings Sing” session this Sunday from 12:15pm to 1:30pm for those who feel like sharing some uplifting music (and perhaps a little chocolate 🍫 too!) on this Easter Sunday.
As many of you know, I’ve recently come to the end of my artist residency with the Ockham Collective, and with that, we’ve had to say goodbye to our long-time home at The Nix. I’m incredibly grateful for the years we were able to make music in that beautiful space 💛
For the next 4 weeks, while I prepare to head off on my European music tour (from May 5th until late August), I’ll be relocating our classes to a new temporary venue. A huge thank you to Toast & Tonic Cafe for generously offering us their spacious back room, which is perfect for our 12.15 Sunday session together ☕🎶

### 🎶 Welcome to Auckland Intermediate Ukulele & Singing Lessons!
There are various levels of classes offered within this Meetup group.
This joint Intermediate / 4 Strings Sing session is designed for those who:
- Are familiar with basic major and minor chord shapes
- Can play simple songs on the ukulele
- Know strumming patterns such as the island (calypso) strum and the “chuck” strum
- Feel ready to progress beyond beginners level
- Are curious about (or preparing for) playing in a group ensemble setting
This is a great opportunity to bridge the gap between intermediate learning and ensemble performance in a relaxed and supportive environment.

### 📍 Location & Access
Classes will be held at Toast & Tonic Cafe in Auckland.
We’ll be using their back room space, offering a comfortable and welcoming setting for our session.
29 Crummer Rd, Grey Lynn, Auckland
I will be eating a quick lunch there after class before heading off to teach my beginner classes near Cornwall Park. Anyone welcome to join me and stay on longer, as the cafe is open until 3pm (no holiday surcharge).

- Deepen your understanding of chords and progressions
- Explore more varied strumming patterns
- Learn songs across different genres
- Develop coordination between singing and playing
- Begin playing more by ear and exploring tabs/music sheets
- Experience elements of ensemble playing
- Experiment with group improvisation
- Explore harmony singing
This session blends skill-building with the joy of playing together as a group.
