"4 Strings Sing"/Intermediate Uke & Singing group Sessions are BACK *in Ponsonby

Hi and welcome to the '4 Strings Sing'/Intermediate ukulele and singing sessions! ❤️🎶

There are various levels of classes offered on Saturdays & Sundays.
This Sunday is the third session since my recent return from 3 1/2 months overseas in Europe. Until a more affordable teaching space is found, I have temporarily decided to put together the "4 Strings Sing" and Intermediate groups that are usually separate classes. Please see the descriptions for each of these below:

4 STRINGS SING
This "4 Strings Sing" Auckland-based ukulele performing ensemble is a ukulele-centric music collective born out of Sonia's Auckland beginner & intermediate ukulele & singing lessons. After a few years of music sharing, we've decided it's time to play some more shows and bring music out into the city more proactively. We love to share music in various community settings: retirement communities, schools, hospitals, gardens, markets, public places, churches, concert halls, house concerts, etc...

The more, the merrier!
Please feel free to join us if you are an experienced ukulele player and/or singer and would like to take part in this mission of spreading joy through music, far and wide. We are an international, friendly and growing group. We're also on the lookout for percussionists or other keen instrumentalists to add more spice and flavour to our group sound. We do already have a bass player, a banjo player and some baritone and island uke players.

INTERMEDIATE
A session for those of you who are already familiar with basic major and minor chord shapes, have learned some strumming patterns including the "island strum" (also known as calypso) and the "chuck" strum, can play simple songs on the ukulele, read a bit of TAB notation and feel keen on advancing faster than in a group for beginners or seasoned beginners.

📍 Location & Access
As many of you know, we’ve recently had to say goodbye to our wonderful venue at the Nix, as my 6-year artist residency with the Ockham Collective has come to an end. For this Sunday's session, we will be having our classes at the Ponsonby Community Centre where I have booked the "Meeting Room #2". The address is:

🕓 This week: The class will be a joint 4SS + Intermediate class on Sunday at 10.30AM (note: usually two separate Sunday classes, but this week and next are different).
⚠️ Class times may vary week to week due to performance commitments, so please sign up via Meetup to stay updated.

💰 Booking & Pricing

• $25 per class (cash on the day or bank transfer)
• Please also bring/include an extra $5 to help cover the room rental
