Making the links: Fast Track Act = Bathurst Resources applying under the Fast Track Act to open cast mine coal on the Denniston Plateau, West Coast. This has been refused many times. Denniston has a poor environmental record.
ANZ Bank is on the list of 40 banks financing the climate crisis: https://www.bankingonclimatechaos.org And is providing the working accounts for Denniston Resources.
Following the Easter Camp and occupation of coal buckets, nationwide pickets of ANZ, and online ANZ action, we are keeping up the pressure.
Friday August 8th there will be pickets and blockades of ANZ branches around the country.
We are meeting at 9.30 ANZ corner of Queen and Customs St. We need people on the information table; leafleting; banner holding. And of course the picket/blockade. We have SW4C (Song Writers 4 Climate) Loveray and Mitch performing. We also have an Agitprop performance (Should Shane Jones be terrified of native snails?)
Science is clear: Keep The Coal In The Hole.
