FAQs: Junk drawer or treasure trove?
Frequently asked questions have helped people solve problems, and businesses save time for decades.
However, this content type can often slide into chaos despite our best intentions for them to be helpful.
Over time, the FAQ section on a website can end up like a kitchen junk drawer rather than a treasure trove of handy information.
Join us on a journey into the history of FAQs, why they can end up in the junk draw, how to stop them from sliding into chaos and ways to get the most out of this often under-loved content type.
About Trudy Evans
With over 20 years of working with digital content, Trudy's career has spanned the evolution of the digital industry as we know it today and the development of content strategy as a profession.
As a closet content geek, Trudy is passionate about solving messy content problems. She believes excellent content can make people happy and loves empowering others with tips, tricks, and strategies to create great content.
Trudy's claim-to-fame is making flying goggles with her hands. She once sat next to her content strategy hero, Kristina Halvorson, author of Content Strategy for the Web, and was so star-stuck she couldn't think of anything to say!
