● Some words to Inspire you:
Trekking along the Waikorea Stream to the beach is an adventure through untouched nature, combining a scenic waterway, lush native bush, and a rugged west coast shoreline.
The journey begins by following the Waikorea Stream, weaving through farmland and dense greenery, where you might spot native birds such as tūī and kererū. As you reach the black sand beach, the vast Tasman Sea opens before you, offering a dramatic contrast to the inland tranquility.
Walking north along the coastline, the raw beauty of this remote beach is striking, with towering cliffs and rolling surf. The journey leads to Crayfish Point, a rocky outcrop known for its rich marine life and stunning coastal views.
At low tide, rock pools and exposed reefs provide a chance to explore sea life up close. This trek offers solitude, breathtaking scenery, and the perfect escape into the wild beauty of New Zealand’s west coast.

The Golden Stairs Track in Hokianga during September is a magical experience, the kōwhai trees should be in flower, hence the name Golden Stairs. The cooler temperatures make for a comfortable hike, and the wildflowers and new growth add a vibrant touch to the scenery. Along the way, you’ll hear native birdsong and enjoy the peaceful remoteness of the area. Reaching the top rewards you with panoramic coastal views, making it the perfect spot to pause and appreciate Hokianga’s untamed beautyThe Waimamaku Coastal Track, located in the Hokianga region, offers a stunning blend of native bush, rugged coastline, and expansive ocean views. As you walk along the river, the landscape opens up to reveal golden beaches, dramatic cliffs, and rolling waves. The track is relatively remote, providing a peaceful and less-touristy experience.
