Greetings Everyone - Join us on Wednesday for our Winter midweek walks from Devonport to North Head.
● Some words to Inspire you:
Stepping off the Devonport ferry, you’re greeted by the scent of salt air and the gentle call of gulls. The walk begins past heritage villas and blooming pōhutukawa, their branches etched against the sky like brushstrokes. Seaglass glints along the shoreline as the path curves by Cheltenham Beach, where kids dig moats and dogs chase tides, even in winter’s low sun.As you approach North Head, its grassy rise looms quietly, waiting. The path winds steeply now, lined with flax and whispers of history—tunnels carved deep, batteries silent but still watchful. Near the summit, Auckland sprawls behind you in shimmering blues and silver spires.
At the top, the wind greets you first. Then the view. Rangitoto lies sentinel in the distance, and the Hauraki Gulf unfolds wide and wild. For a moment, all is still—just you, the sea, and the long exhale of a city at your back.
