Safety is paramount to us. Our organizers are well-equipped and experienced, carrying walkie-talkies and PLBs when necessary. Nature can be unpredictable, so we emphasize the importance of preparedness and following organiser instructions.

Greeting All, We are going to Brick Bay - for a Xmas BBQ, we will do a walk along the coastline/bush to Sandspit Wharf. This is a classic New Zealand Beach Day - BBQ, sand, sun, water, food, good times. You can go for a swim. There are toilets, trees, children's play ground and grass.
Duration: You decide how long to stay.
Hike Distance: Not Far (45 minute stroll).
Difficulty: 2.0 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes.
What the Grade means
This Event will be limited to 50 people.
Cost: $5 (If you are bringing Guests please pay $5 for each person you bring) for BBQ, Table and some tasty treats.
Car poolers pay your driver $15 at New World.
BBQ Money ($5) to be paid cash on the day.
● Important Notes & Updates:
Bring Food and Drink YOU require for the BBQ. Do NOT expect other people to feed you.
Bring any beach toys you wish, football, volley ball etc...
Children are welcome, but they are your responsibility. Swimming is also your responsibility. Care should be taken, it is a very safe beach.
High tide is: 15:30

Everyone is to bring a Xmas gift - Not to cost more than $10. (Secret Santa) Google if you have not heard of Secret Santa.
The hike is on coast line, roads, tracks and footpaths, wear appropriate shoes.

- 09:15 - Meet at New World Victoria Park
- 09:30 - Car Pooling organised.

- 11:00 - Start walk to Sandpit Wharf
- 12:00 - BBQ start
- 15:00 - Finish (Your Decide).
● Hike Description:
Walking along the coastline to Sandspit Wharf and return via the forest. Care must be taken on the sand/mud/rocks. This will be a little bit tide dependent.

- clothing suitable for summer.
- footwear suitable for easy walking surfaces.

- towel and swimming gear (if interested to swim)

(2) We aim to leave New World and start exactly on time, and are unlikely to wait for late people. Arriving early is good :-)
(3) It is safer and generally more fun to hike together as a group. We aim to do this with stops at all track junctions for group to regather. However, there's no guarantee this will happen so prepare well for this hike in case you become separated from group.

Greetings Everyone - Join us this Sunday to explore this stunning clifftop track hugging the Manukau harbour entrance. This is a tough out-and-back challenge with steep climbs and plenty of steps, rewarded with outstanding coastal views.
Duration: About 5-6 hours hike including stops.
Distance: Approx 12-15 km.
Difficulty: 3.5 on our 1-5 scale for day hikes. Lots of steps.
What the Grade meansCost: $15 for car poolers
Toilets: At Whatipu campgrounds.
Elevation Gain: 600-700mNote THERE ARE NO TOILETS AT THE START OF THE HIKE it is recommended you stop by the karamatura valley toilets past Huia on the way to Mount Donald McLean

● Hike Description & Directions:
From the carpark we take a short 15 minute track until we reach the summit (Mt. Donald Mclean). We then come back down and take the Puriri Ridge Track which then leads on to the Omanawanui Track to Whatipu.
If the weather is good we will have lunch down on the beach and if it is poor then we will go to the campgrounds. We then return back the way we came to the carpark.● Capture the Moment:

On Sunday we will walk Kinloch to Kawakawa Bay (return).

Distance: Approx 20km on Saturday and 9km on Sunday.

Walking the Waipu Coastal Track in Northland, New Zealand, offers an immersive experience of rugged natural beauty and serene coastal landscapes.This scenic trail stretches along the dramatic coastline, providing stunning views of Bream Bay and the offshore islands. The track, beginning near Waipu Cove, meanders through diverse terrains, including sandy beaches, rocky outcrops, and lush bushland.
As you traverse the track, you’ll encounter fascinating geological formations and tidal pools teeming with marine life. Birdwatchers will delight in the variety of seabirds, including the rare New Zealand dotterel. We start with a short beach walk to the toilets, then continue along the coastal track to Langs Beach - Feet may get wet crossing the small stream to start the coastal walk.The return will be the same.
