Waikorea Beach to Crayfish Point

Nishiki Japanese Restaurant, 100 Wellington St, Freemans Bay, Auckland, NZ

Greetings Everyone - Join us this Sunday as we walk down the Waikorea Stream to the beach and walk along the beach to Crayfish Point.

ā— Some words to Inspire you:
Trekking along the Waikorea Stream to the beach is an adventure through untouched nature, combining a scenic waterway, lush native bush, and a rugged west coast shoreline.

The journey begins by following the Waikorea Stream, weaving through farmland and dense greenery, where you might spot native birds such as tūī and kererū. As you reach the black sand beach, the vast Tasman Sea opens before you, offering a dramatic contrast to the inland tranquility.

Walking north along the coastline, the raw beauty of this remote beach is striking, with towering cliffs and rolling surf. The journey leads to Crayfish Point, a rocky outcrop known for its rich marine life and stunning coastal views.

At low tide, rock pools and exposed reefs provide a chance to explore sea life up close. This trek offers solitude, breathtaking scenery, and the perfect escape into the wild beauty of New Zealand’s west coast.
