Te Aroha Summit Track

Details

Greetings Everyone - Join us this Sunday as we trek up the Mt Te Aroha Summit Track.

Some words to Inspire you:
Hiking the Te Aroha Summit Track is a rewarding adventure offering stunning views and a challenging ascent. The trail begins in the Te Aroha Domain, winding through lush native bush filled with towering trees and birdsong. As you climb, the terrain becomes steeper, but the effort is well worth it.

At the 952m summit, breathtaking panoramic views stretch across the Waikato Plains and Coromandel Ranges.

After the descent, a perfect way to relax is by soaking your feet in the free natural foot spa in Te Aroha Domain. The warm mineral water, sourced from the geothermal springs, provides a soothing end to an invigorating hike.

The combination of a challenging trek and a therapeutic soak makes this experience a fantastic blend of adventure and relaxation, perfect for those seeking both nature and wellness in one trip.

Important Notes:

### Expect a steep and rough track

You need good fitness for this track – it climbs almost 1 km in height over a 3.9 km track. This means it is very steep.
The track is rough, so wear comfortable hiking boots/shoes with good grip and ankle support.

### It can be very cold near the summit, pack warm clothes

The summit of Te Aroha is nearly 1 km above sea level. It experiences alpine weather and can be far colder than temperatures in Te Aroha. Even if it’s warm in the town, pack plenty of warm layers and a waterproof raincoat.

### No water on track, carry lots

There are no water sources on the track and the long climb means walkers need lots of water. We recommend carrying 2-3 L of water per person.
