A great film to open our 2024 season.
We haven't had a sci-fi action film before, and certainly not a hilarious one like this. A middle aged Chinese woman whi has migrated to the US, who can't seem to manage her taxes, and ends up time travelling to save the universe.
Sound wild? Yes, it is, but the film was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture and Michelle Yeoh won the Golden Globe Award for best actress, There has to be a reason...
The BBC reviewer wrote: "Delightfully bonkers on the surface, this inventive extravaganza from the directing team called Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert) has a deep layer of family feeling and a well-earned emotional pull at the end."
Metro Newspaper (UK) commented: "The most brilliantly bananas movie of 2022 absolutely lives up to its title. Michelle Yeoh kicks all types of butt as a time-travelling laundromat manager in a multiverse of madness."
2024 will have its challenges so lets get into it on a good note.
