Short films are a unique art form - and Aotearoa is excellent at making them. Every year at the New Zealand International Film Festival the "New Zealand Best Short Film Competition" is a highlight.
We will be showing 6 short films (under 15 minutes) from Aotearoa-New Zealand to mark the Waitangi season. There will be a focus on Māori directors, but also a feature by the incomparable Fred Dagg and a meditation on "cows" - not to be missed!
- Closer (14:09)
- Turangiwaewae: A Place to Stand (12:57)
- Cow (12:05)
- We Don’t Know How Lucky We Are (Fred Dagg) (2:48)
- New Zealand: The Other Side of the World (6:09)
- How Mr and Mrs Gock Saved the Kumara (4:00)
- Two Cars, One Night (11:00)
Note: We’re hosting the event on the ground floor of the Ellen Melville Centre, and you’ll easily spot us through the glass walls. The main doors are usually locked, so if they’re closed when you arrive, just tap on the glass, and we’ll open the door for you from inside. Contact Stuart: 027 915 9805
