When Fall is Coming (French Film Festival) 2024

This is one for the oldies among us (not really, anyone can enjoy this for sure). It is about ageing, loyalty, family ties, and a celebration of the French rural countryside. This a quiet, thoughtful and well acted and produced film.

The film won the Jury Prize for best screenplay and best supporting actress at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. When films win prizes for those two things, it is a good sign.

We put the meetup for 3.00pm on Thursday, which may rule out some who have jobs. We want to give those who don't like coming out on winter nights a chance (and who want to avoid the rush of weekends). It also supports the cinemas if people can come to daytime showings.
