This is the first film we have shown from Lesotho, and it is a while since we showed an African film.
Grieving and alone, an 80 year old woman named Mantoa has lost her husband and children. She now prepares for her own funeral and to be buried alongside her family and her ancestors.
However, she hears of plans to build a dam which would literally wash away everything and everyone she holds dear. She finds a reason to live as she makes a last stand and mobilises her village to save her land and people.
One reviewer noted that Mary Twala Mhlongo, who plays Mantoa, gives a "soul-shaking end-of-life performance".
A must-see
