The highs and lows of building Agentically

Serko recently launched the closed beta of Serko.ai - an autonomous, multi-agent AI solution set to redefine business travel. CTO Simon Young will discuss the highs and lows of building agentically, within the SDLC and within the product, and share some hot takes on the state of AI within software engineering.

Simon is a highly respected New Zealand technology executive and currently serves as Chief Technology Officer at Serko. He brings more than 20 years of experience leading engineering, product, and technology teams in high-growth software businesses.
Simon joined Serko in 2023 as Vice President of Engineering and was appointed CTO in 2024. In this role, he is responsible for driving Serko’s global technology strategy, fostering innovation, and scaling the company’s engineering capability as it expands internationally.
Prior to Serko, Simon held senior executive positions including Chief Product and Technology Officer at Trade Me and Vice President of Engineering at Halter. He is widely regarded as a strong engineering and product leader with deep expertise in SaaS platforms, large-scale software development, and building high-performing technology teams.
Simon is known for combining strategic vision with strong technical leadership, making him one of New Zealand’s most accomplished CTOs in the software and technology sector.

The Microsoft building now has access gates installed on the group floor. To get through, you will need a QR code or someone will need to scan you in.

We'll update the event with details on how to get a QR code closer to the event time.

We'll also have someone scanning people in from 5pm until about 5:45pm.
