IMPORTANT: If you RSVP "Yes" then Stacey will contact you with bank account details. You MUST then send payment of $50 to Stacey within 24 hours by NZ bank transfer otherwise you WILL be removed from the meetup. If you do not 100% intend to make payment and attend the meetup then DO NOT RSVP "Yes"!

Where: We'll meet at Billfish Cafe for coffee at 10am or arrive earlier if you'd like to have breakfast at the cafe.

We board the yacht at 10:30am sharp, we can't wait for anyone who is late so please arrive in plenty of time.

The yacht Ohana is a beautiful 50ft catamaran sailing yacht, very stable and safe but also fun and easy to sail - everyone can have a go!

Let's have a fantastic day out on the water, making new friends and enjoying the stunning scenery of the Hauraki gulf!

Itinerary (may change depending on weather):

  • Three hour sail to Waiheke island.

  • Scenic 20 minute walk to a winery together

*Walk back to the boat and sail back to the city, arriving around 7pm.

$50 per person for your share of the running cost of the boat is payable in advance. If you add a +1 then you are responsible for paying for them and they must arrive with you. This is a very special rate because Ohana Charters sponsor this meetup group - normally a yacht charter to waiheke would cost 2-3 times more!

Other costs: Pay for your own food and drink at the winery. Light food is available at the winery but if you're on a tight budget or you want something more substantial then you could bring a packed lunch to eat on the boat and just have a glass of wine or a tasting session at the winery.

Parking: Pay and display parking available at Z pier in the yellow spaces or free parking in the white spaces around S pier (10 minutes walk). It's a 25 minute walk away from Britomart through the Wynyard quarter and very close to the Citylink bus stop on Daldy st.

Bring Suncream, warm clothes, hat, windproof/waterproof jacket, sunglasses, drinks, snacks, and sensible footwear (like trainers - no high heels permitted on board).

Note: I will PM you with payment details - first 23 to pay will secure their spot first come, first served. We need 23 to set sail! Sorry - no refunds, unless the trip is cancelled. The boat's legal maximum is 25 people (that's me, Chris the skipper sailing it, and the 23 people who RSVP), so we can't take any extras.

If the weather is horrible, there will be a rain date on the next available Sunday. Refunds will not be offered for a postponement but you can sell your ticket to another group member at cost price.

If you drop out then you MUST update your RSVP to "No". You are then responsible for collecting your $50 back from the person who RSVPs "Yes" after you RSVP "no". Stacey must receive payment for all 23 places before any places can be sold on. Places cannot otherwise be sold and anyone who is not on the RSVP list will not be allowed on the boat. Please make sure to use your real name and photo so we can check your attendance on arrival.

The winery is probably going to be Cable Bay or Mud Brick but the itinerary may be changed depending on weather.
