June 2025 Meetup: AI Meets XR

Welcome to our JUne AR/VR meetup - on Wednesday, June 25th at 6:45pm for a 7pm start.

As usual, this will be held at the Auckland Bioengineering Institite Building (70 Symonds St) at the University of Auckland.

This month the topic will be AI Meets XR. At the recent AWE 2025 conference in the US, a strong theme was how XR can be used as an ideal front end for AI. Over the coming years we will see Smart Glasses with integrated AI, AI tools for generating XR content, and intelligent agents populating our VR spaces. This week I'll give a presentation about some uses of AI in XR and the potential impacts in the future.

We will also have some demos of AI enhanced VR spaces.

Feel free to bring along some of your own work or ideas to show as well. It'll be good to have a discussion about how you think AI will impact XR.

As always, the meetup will be at 70 Symonds St. The building entrance will be locked, so when you arrive please txt Mairi at 027 446 0164 to get in, or look for the students outside.

We will have pizza and drinks.. Pizza will arrive by 6:45pm, so arrive early.
