Auckland Voice & A capella Singing Workshop series, Winter/Spring 2025

Kia ora and welcome to the Auckland Voice & A capella Singing 2025 Workshop series

Based on Sonia's experience in Acapella singing, world music, sound healing and physical theatre, the aim of this beginner-friendly workshop series will be to introduce students to new tools for accessing their own creativity through voice, body and song, increasing self-confidence, listening and expressive skills, improving vocal agility, learning to improvise and aspects of storytelling.

Through a guided process of creative group exploration, participants will be encouraged to strengthen their physical and spatial awareness and connection, as well as learning about the voice, singing, world music and harmony.

Dates of the workshops in this 10 workshops series:
every Wednesday evening from August 13th to October 15th 2025.
Time: 6 to 7.30pm (please arrive early as we will begin the workshops punctually at 6pm each week).

It is not a requirement to attend all the workshops, though it is (unsurprisingly) recommended to attend as many of the workshops as you can to gain a broad range of insights, as each one will feature different tools and musical repertoire.

This workshop series is open to students at every level of musical experience. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in. I also recommend being well hydrated before the start of the session.

Places are limited to 15 as this is all the space can accommodate and will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis as advance payment is received.

Cost for participants:

$30 casual rate / session

Bulk discounts:

$145 for 5 sessions ($5 off)
$280 for 10 sessions ($20 off)

• $5 cash contribution weekly on arrival for the venue and printing cost (most of these funds will be put to use to purchase gifts for my flatmates who have kindly accepted I host the sessions in our beautiful and spacious lounge near Mt Eden Village).

Please pay for each session online up until the day before each workshop session (you are welcome to pay for them in bulk if you prefer) to complete your booking for that session & please bring $5 cash for each session, as detailed above.
