Spectacular Mermaid Pools and Tahmoor Canyon Circuit 11km med-hard!

This is a lovely loop of encompassing the Tahmoor Canyon and Mermaid Pools that cross dense eucalypt forest and then deep into the canyons and crossing the Bargo River and then following the trail back to the start.

Spectacular 11km loop trail near Bargo, New South Wales. Generally considered a challenging route. The Mermaids Pool is a culturally significant area to the aboriginal community. Do not swim in the pools as there are hidden rocks that can cause serious injury.

That said as we move on to Tahmoor Canyon we can swim! :-) yes a challenging walk but we have time on our side with no rush so can enjoy the plunge in cool water, views from the lookouts and fantastic scenery.

11km return but may be a bit longer due to side trips to lookout points etc. Track is rough in places and there is some scrambling but that is why we like it. Tahmoor Canyon you may get wet, be prepared!

Please bring at least 2L of water, lunch, snacks, hat, sunscreen, jacket in case of a change in weather, sturdy walking shoes and a sense of fun and adventure!

Meet at the Tahmoor Centre Bakehouse 09:30 sharp please be on time... There are no bail out points on this adventure!

SAFETY WARNING: Please stay away from cliff edges and be very careful when walking on wet and slippery rocks and surfaces. Please stay within sight of the group at all times and do not walk in front of the leader. If you get lost you are on your own and must find your own way out.
