Details

This is a lovely walk that goes through a series of tranquil bushland environments from moist fern forests to the drier grass tree and eucalypt forests of the ridge.
We start at Thornleigh Train Station (on the Yarrara Road side of the station) at 10am.
We will walk through suburban streets for a short while before diving into the bush at the southern end of Berowra Valley National Park.
We then follow the Berowra Walking Track through the Berowra Creek Valley, passing a few cascading creeks.
This is a rugged bush track in certain places, but we will also be using fire trails and there will be a few climbs and descends.
We will then make our way to Fishponds and join part of the Blue Gum Forest Walk before climbing up the challenging Heritage Steps (depression era stone steps) to Hornsby.
We will aim to finish at Hornsby Train Station by 3pm, from which we can go for a drink to the near-by RSL or catch a train to return home.
