A Different Kind of Bushwalk - Engadine Bush Trail Along Woronora River!

If you like to repeat the same walks over and over, this walk is not for you!
If you like bush walking with a little bush-bashing, you’ll love this walk!
We will start at Engadine Train Station (meet outside the station on the west side) at 9.30am sharp. The train from Central Leaves at 8.37am and arrives at Engadine at 9.27am
From here we will walk through the Engadine shops and make our way to Ferntree Reserve where we enter the Ferntree Pipeline Trail.
We follow it along for a while and then start our descend into the bush towards the Woronora River, cross to the other side (easy to do), and bush-bash (in a civil way) for a kilometre or two.
There are some lovely views of the valley to be had before heading up to the ridge and making our way to Old Illawarra Road (now a fire trail) almost hitting Lucas Heights and the nuclear reactor. I am told that if we were to do this walk at night we would see the trees and animals “glow in the dark” (maybe not! LOL!).
We then descend back down to Woronora River, cross the river (again, easy to do) and follow the river for a kilometre before we head back up to Ferntree Pipeline Trial and then trace our steps back to Engadine.
We will aim to finish at Engadine by 3pm, probably at the RSL for a well-earned drink, before catching a train back to the city.

GRADE: Medium.
NOTE: No exit options along the way, unless in suburbia. Please let the Host know if you leave the walk.

· Be Prepared: Wear comfortable shoes, bring at least 2L of water and dress for the weather. I would recommend hydralyte tablets, snacks and sun protection.
· Follow Instructions: Please follow the instructions of the Host at all times and keep the Host within sight.
