Volunteer at It's My Park Day - Nov 1, 2025 9-12

Join us at the Austin Parks Foundation's big Fall volunteer event - It's My Park Day . We'll be picking up trash, maybe grabbing up shovels and rakes, and work to improve one of this city's many wonderful parks and greenbelts. (There are dozens of events around Austin, so if you can't make this one, please feel free to register at another.)

I chose this spot as it's been years since I've been to this riparian spot and I thought it would be great to see this part of the Colorado River - and how nature has changed it's course. It's a little downstream from Secret Beach, but on the other side of the river. It used to be a popular spot for kayakers to put in, too.

You've likely gone over this hidden spot on your way to the airport. Parking is under the Montopolis Bridge. Leave extra time to get there in case you're like me and get lost trying to get there. https://maps.app.goo.gl/FmuLZh2pGsoEFszw7

Bring / wear sturdy shoes and clothing, gloves, water, sun protection. APF will have a variety of tools on hand. Children are welcome if supervised by their parents.
