HEB's 36th Feast of Sharing - Tue 11/25/24 1st Shift (3-6:30)

HEB's (36th) Annual Feast of Sharing is the best ways to bring in the holiday season.

Not only do we help start the holiday season with food for everyone, but we also get to have turkey, hear great music acts, and be part of the festivities.

This event will be held on Tuesday, 11/25 at the Palmer Events Center (900 Barton Springs Rd) in AUSTIN. Turkey dinners with all the trimmings will be served to almost 15,000+ people between 4 – 8 p.m.

The volunteer time for the first shift is from 3-6:30. There is a also a 2nd shift available.

You MUST sign up individually at United Way and get a confirmation email from them. We'll just meet there. I'll try to wear something memorable - likely a special hat - so that you can find me. I wanted to be a Greeter at the front door but it looks like all those spots are taken. I'll update this post when I figure out where I'll be.

Please feel free to take precautions from getting sick, like wearing a mask.

PARKING: There is NO parking available at the Palmer Event Center
FREE PARKING with shuttle service will be available at the 2nd Street Austin Convention Center Parking Garage located at 201 E 2nd St.
Shuttle service pick up is on the corner of Brazos and 2nd, and is available from 2:30pm - 9:30pm
After registering, you will receive a QR code via email a few days before the event for the 2nd Street garage that can be printed before hand or just scanned from your phone for free garage entrance
PLEASE leave extra time to get to parking.

When you arrive, you'll check in at the volunteer table located near the lobby of the north entrance (Riverside Drive side) for your assignment, orientation, and training.

First shift: 3:00 PM - 6:30 PM
Volunteer check-in closes at 7:15 pm. Volunteers arriving after this time are welcome to enjoy dinner as guests. All second-shift volunteers are expected to assist with cleanup until 9 pm.
Please do NOT bring any personal items with you.
Make sure to dress warm and wear comfortable clothes and shoes. A coat check will be available, including placement for umbrellas.
