In this exhibition Sherry Tseng Hill explores intricate connections within natural environment by highlighting tiny things that often go unnoticed, discarded, or even feared; yet play crucial role in sustaining our world, such as fungi, slime molds, insects & decaying leaves. These small decomposers, pollinators & food sources help maintain soil health, nutrient cycles, & overall balance of ecosystems.
She uses translucent mulberry paper as structured foundation for her work. Through hand-stitching , layers diverse materials as metaphors for complexities & interconnectedness of our environment, & contemplate & reflect on beauty & richness that exists beneath our feet, in air, in water,soil& unseen space around us.
