Opening Reception

Exhibition borrows its title from Emily Dickinson’s enduring meditation on hope as “the thing with feathers /that perches in the soul.” This exhibition considers quiet, persistent forces that sustain life- often unseen, yet deeply felt. Like Dickinson’s bird that “sings the tune without the words./ and never stops at all”, the works gathered here move through gesture, material, & rhythm rather than fixed narrative, giving form to what resists language. Exhibition unfolds in five interconnected sections- Cosmos, Agua Santa, Patchwork,Beacons,& Airborne- each exploring generative forces of life, energy& creation.
Her work is held in permanent collections of UT- SanAntonio& numerous private collections.

(Bio & more on website).
On exhibit til May 14.
