Artist Statement
“I am interested in how everyday objects hold a sense of time that feels fleeting & enduring. Working with mastery such as paper, porcelain, & plastic, I explore how meaning emerges in ordinary things; often revealing layered & sometimes conflicting ideas about history, culture & value. I collect plastic bags, cardboard boxes, press, crush,& reuse til they feel worn down or emptied. This body of work brings these ideas together as kind of quiet landscape or tablescape. Objects suggest moments in time, like brief encounters we rarely return to& feel specific & transient. Works become traces of contact, holding onto something that is constantly slipping away.
