Link & Pin presents Summer Exposure, a series of two-week group exhibitions showcasing local artists working in a variety of media.

Alyssa Jethani is a self-taught abstract mixed-media artist based in Austin, Texas. Born in Canada to East African parents of Indian descent, her work is shaped by a life spent moving between cultures, places, and seasons of change. After 15 years working across strategy, management, nonprofit, and corporate roles, Alyssa turned more deeply toward art as a way to slow down and reconnect with herself. Now balancing motherhood and creative practice, she creates layered works using acrylic, textiles, beads, and stencils that explore not knowing all the answers and being a work in progress.

Sushmitha Din Kashi’s art is a blend of creative fluidity and precision from her engineering background. She has been painting and exhibiting art from when she was twelve. After a decade-long hiatus, she recently revamped her art journey in Austin. Her watercolor works, inspired by the natural world, capture the delicate interplay between nature and emotion. She draws inspiration from nature around us in her artwork, be it landscapes, flowers, flow of water or colorful birds.

Natalie Shaw: In response to our addiction to instant gratification, Shaw explores the fragility of things half-formed, and the role our patience plays in their survival. By suspending unhurried forms on a transparent surface, she refocuses our attention to the in-between. Structurally dismantled and collaged with embryonic paint skins, the work allows viewers to witness different stages of growth as they emerge. With organic shapes taking on human qualities, Shaw presents this work as a dialogue on shared vulnerability, the power of process, and the state of being free.
