"See Yourself & Others As a Rose is a collection of rose paintings by Dr. Melba Martinez. Martinez started painting in 2003 and since then has painted hundreds of roses. Come and see this rich collection featuring paintings that cover 23 years of work.
ARTIST:
Austin based artist, born in Nebraska, Dr. Melba Martinez's first canvas was film and theater; where she has worked as a professional producer, director, and actress including working for Disney. As a visual artist, she is recognized for her paintings of roses. Martinez received a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Theatre, Film, and Performance Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997. Melba was recently seen playing Ana in Trinity St Players’ production of nora.
