Austin Bitcoin Club + HRF Presents: VIBE CODING FOR FREEDOM
Details
Join Bitcoin Park and the Human Rights Foundation for an evening exploring the intersection of AI and freedom technology during SXSW.
AI is reshaping how software gets built, and that includes the tools defending human rights around the world. But the same technology powering open-source development is also fueling surveillance states.
So where do we go from here?
We'll hear from HRF on AI-powered surveillance in authoritarian regimes, then dive into a panel with Justin Moon, Mark Suman, and Lyle Pratt on how AI is accelerating development on Bitcoin and NOSTR, the privacy trade-offs builders should be aware of, and how "vibe coding" is lowering the barrier for anyone to contribute to freedom tech.
No deep technical background required, just curiosity about where AI and freedom intersect.
### Agenda
5:00 PM — Doors Open & attendees arrive, grab food from Johnny's BBQ, and connect.

6:30 PM — AI Surveillance & the Case for Freedom Tech
6:40 PM — Panel: Vibe Coding for Freedom
7:00 PM — Audience Q&A
7:10 PM — Closing Remarks

When you arrive:
- Someone will be at the main door to greet you and let you in. The elevator will already be unlocked and waiting for you.
- Once inside, just press 2 and it will take you straight up to the second floor.
Just in case something doesn’t work as planned:
- You can also walk through the Capital One Café (it’s open to the public) and take the elevator from there, or shoot a quick message on Signal to Jack (@jackless.09) and he’ll come right down to get you.
If this is your first time at one of our meetups, we have a few simple guidelines to enhance everyone’s experience:
- our meetups and events have a simple and singular focus: Bitcoin. All of our topics and discussions will be centered around Bitcoin, the global monetary network, and bitcoin, the reserve asset. If you are interested in crypto tokens, stocks, blockchains, altcoins, alternative investing, NFTs, etc. that is completely fine. There are a number of other meetups to join. This meetup however is just focused on Bitcoin
- please no photos unless no one is identifiable in the background. We respect everyone’s privacy and want everyone to feel comfortable as they participate
- while the group discussion is going, please keep side conversations to none. With the acoustics of the room and the number of people we expect, any conversations will echo and be a distraction for those who are trying to listen many of whom have traveled a long way to participate
- please pick up after yourself
- Street parking or the paid garage across from our building on East 6th (515 Congress)
