The Running Man (2025) and book by Stephen King (1982)

Come discuss the book by Stephen King and remake of the 1987 movie by the same name "Running Man".

We'll meet before the movie to discuss the book and then head in to watch the movie. Afterwards, we can reconvene in the lobby again to discuss and compare the two. Try to buy your tickets ahead of time!

Couple questions we can discuss:

• How does the movie compare to the Arnold classic from 1987?
• The book takes place in a bleak future full of poverty and oppression. How well does the movie capture this setting—or does it shift the focus more to action and spectacle?
• How is Ben Richards portrayed differently in the movie vs. the book? Is one version more compelling or sympathetic than the other?
• Did either ending feel more satisfying or thought-provoking? What would you have changed about either version?
