Joint Meetup with AJUG: Introductions to Cassandra and CQL

Details
Hey guys,
For our March meetup, we will be doing a joint meetup with the Austin Java Users Group (http://www.austinjug.org/index.jsp). This means it will be on a Tuesday instead of our normal Thursday, so mark your calendars.
For the meetup we will have to Cassandra engineers, Tyler Hobbs, and Yuki Morishita, giving an introduction to Cassandra and an introduction to CQL (Cassandra Query Language). Hope everyone can make it out!
Additional Location Info: http://www.utexas.edu/commons/maps/
Tentative Schedule:
6:30-7:00: Food, drinks, networking
7:00-7:30: Introduction to Cassandra
7:30-8:00: Introduction to CQL
8:00-8:30: Q&A
More Details:
Introduction to Cassandra
Apache Cassandra is a non-relational, fully distributed database with some unique properties. We will be covering the basic architecture of Cassandra, some real-world use cases from companies like eBay and Instagram, and key features that support those use cases.
Tyler Hobbs
Tyler Hobbs is an Apache Cassandra engineer at DataStax. Additionally, he authored and maintains several of the Cassandra drivers
Introduction to CQL (Cassandra Query Language)
Apache Cassandra offers CQL (Cassandra Query Language) for data modeling, access, and manipulation. CQL has similar syntax to SQL in the RDBMS world, but is built on top of the distributed Cassandra storage engine. To leverage the high performance Cassandra offers and avoid pitfalls, you need to know how the language works. In this session, you will learn what you can do with CQL3, common data modeling patterns, and how you can start using CQL in your java application.
Yuki Morishita
Yuki is an Apache Cassandra committer and also a Software Developer at DataStax. Before joining DataStax, he worked as an architect for enterprise Java applications in Tokyo, Japan.
