Austin Cat Lovers Group - Meet and Greet

Hey Austin Cat Lovers Group (ACLG)!

I hope you are pumped for our FIRST meetup (Valentines Day themed) Tuesday, February 19th. I sure am!

I took a tour of our event space at WeWork on Barton Springs (event planning is in my blood). It’s a very cool modern space overlooking downtown Austin. I posted pictures here if you haven’t already checked them out. We have the whole open space on the 9th floor. Lots of fun Valentines decor!

BONUS FREE DRINKS - the WeWork rep I met with today said we have access to all the drinks that are on tap (beer, wine, coffee, kambucha…etc). The tap turns off at 7pm, so that should give you an extra incentive to be on-time at 6pm! SPECIAL thanks to WeWork, who owns meetup.com, for sponsoring our meetup space #grateful.

This first meetup will be more informal, a meet and greet style. We will want to hear your thoughts on future meeting topics/guest speakers, ideas on how to get involved in the community..ect!

I encourage you to make it out to our meetup and engage with your community! Cat people are the coolest! Nothing beats engaging with people face-to-face. Come meet you Cat Lover Friend Forever (CLFF)!

I will make this meetup as engaging and fun as possible. I want people to feel welcome and energized. I like starting with a fun icebreaker game - I will be brainstorming on fun one. If you have any good ideas, let me know!

We are going to have a CAT MEME CONTEST. To enter, just upload your funny cat meme to this meetup event page before the start of our meetup on Tuesday, February 19th. To upload your cat meme on this meetup event page, just scroll down to Photos, and click Add Photos. Then boom, it's added! Easy! You can either create your own cat meme or get one off the Internet. Then at the meetup, we will vote to pick the funniest cat meme. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. You must be present to win!

MEETUP DETAILS:

-Date: Tuesday, February 19th
-Time: 6:00PM-8:30PM
-Venue: WeWork, 9th floor
-Venue Address: 801 Barton Springs Austin TX 78704
-Parking: Parking is $5 starting at 5pm. The parking garage is located in the center of the WeWork building. Once you park your car then go to the 9th floor and check in at the front desk.

If you decide to not drive (take a rideshare/get dropped off), then just walk in the front door ( you can’t miss it) and then go to the 9th floor.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE on the 9th floor, you can head to the guest registration tablets at the front desk when you arrive and scan your ID. We have the whole open space on the 9th floor, so you won’t be able to miss us cluster of cat people!

In order for us to scale, grow, get cool speakers/locations/sponsors for our group, we NEED meetup participation (aka show up to the meetup) and engagement. WeWork policy --> WeWork asks attendees to bring a photo ID and scan it at the guest registration tablets at the front desk when you arrive at WeWork for the Meetup event. If your photo ID does not successfully scan, then please check in at the tablet as a guest of "Austin Cat Lovers Group - Meet and Greet".
