Matt started his career in law and hated it. After a couple years he transitioned to banking and hated it even more. Fed up with the 9 to 5 culture of corporate life and Wall St. he made the big decision to change industries and get into the digital technology space. He loved it and never looked back.
He started out in the NY tech scene at LinkShare then moved on to hold various marketing lead roles at Shutterstock, where he played key role in the company's hyper growth and path to IPO. He moved to Austin in 2013 and founded BrewDrop, one of the first on-demand delivery apps, and the first of it’s kind in Texas. BrewDrop was acquired by Delivery.com (http://delivery.com/) in January, 2016. Now he spends his time blogging at www.startuprevival.com (http://www.startuprevival.com/), growth hacking at www.teamtreehouse.com (http://www.teamtreehouse.com/), mentoring entrepreneurs and planning his next startup(s). In addition to Matt's work in tech and startups he is also the founder of www.fatherslove.org (http://www.fatherslove.org/).
Why Downtown?
We are trying out the downtown area to see if we can get the Christians from the south of town and those who work at Start-ups downtown to participate. Please spread the word to people you know who work in this area because they may not have heard of us before.
Will we be in NW Austin again?
Very likely yes, but we're seeing how this works for the long-term growth of the group. Perhaps we will do alternating locations, or both locations. What determines this is if people show up, at either location. So be certain to let others know and show up! RSVP now!
Parking:
If you park after 6:30pm, Capital Factory will validate your parking so that it costs only $5 in the Omni parking garage.
