What we’re about
This is a group for people who are interested in group vocal improvisation. We are inspired by Bobby McFerrin's work in developing techniques for improvisations that are friendly to beginners and experienced musicians alike. Open to good-hearted people of all faiths, all cultural backgrounds, all physical abilities. I would love to build enthusiasm and eventually bring some of Bobby's team members to do a weekend workshop in Austin!

circlesongaustin@gmail.comAll levels of singers can find challenge in this amazing practice originated by BobbyMcFerrin in his Circlesongs album and currently enjoying a world-wide boom.
One song leader following another will step into the center to spontaneously create parts for singers to join. The result is a multi-layered, polyrhythmic, a capella choral piece that is a joy to be part of. We sing a lot in our events, more than you would at a choir rehearsal.
We hope to add events in North, South and East Austin. Come help us grow.
