Presentation 1:
(approx 30 min to 1.5 hr depending on Yee's wants and needs)

Yee Fay Lim is coming from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, to present a talk about what happens when you want to import data in the ubiquitous CSV format into a Datalog database like Datahike or (potentially) Datomic?

How much could importing CSV data into a Datalog database like Datahike or (potentially) Datomic entail? More than one might anticipate, or at least I did, as it turns out. To accommodate requirements specific to Datahike/Datomic while creating flexible, composable software, a general-purpose tool for the task needs to go well beyond CSV import. I will give an overview of features current and planned in this regard, demonstrate a use case, and perhaps discuss one or two design decisions, with comparisons to the popular Python library Pandas as appropriate.

Note that the API and implementation are currently in what will hopefully be the last major overhaul, and as such the readme, documentation, and tests are completely out of date, but I'll get all these elements into a consistent state before the talk, and rest assured that in addition to passing formal tests, the tool has successfully imported a file with ~2 million rows. I'll likely also rename the repo soon, or once it stabilizes.

A bit about me: I have a varied background, including economics, mathematics, data science, and programming in a variety of languages and applications. I started using Clojure two years ago, and nothing has looked the same ever since.
