Robert Peterson on Lucid Dreaming and Out-of-Body Experience

This is Part 5 of our 5-part series in which we explore the fascinating connection between Lucid Dreaming and Out-of-Body Experience (OBE). To accomplish that goal, we ask the foremost experts in the field to answer a series of questions about that relationship.

This video features a presentation by Robert "Bob" Peterson. Bob has been inducing, studying, writing about and teaching out-of-body experiences (OBEs) since 1979. While attending the University of Minnesota, he became proficient at out-of-body exploration (astral projection), and kept detailed journals of his experiences. Bob had a very successful career as senior level computer systems analyst until he retired in January, 2024.

During this presentation, Bob will explore the following questions:
• What are the moral, religious, and scientific implications for distinguishing lucid dreams and OBE's?
• What is the relationship between lucid dreaming and out-of-body experience (OBE)?
• Do the experiences overlap in any way, and how are they different?
• What are the four OBE states?
