Welcome to Austin Movie Viewing Club! I am the new organizer. I have rescued this group from the ashes. Let's have some fun!
I would like this group to be about watching movies, not merely discussions about movies. I have an Alamo Drafthouse Season Pass, which means that a bunch of my choices will be at Alamo South Lamar. But I also like seeing what’s showing at Austin Film Society up north. While I suspect that most gatherings will be on the weekend, I also like the Alamo's Weird Wednesday, so you'll likely see that pop up from time to time. I will try and I give at least a week’s notice, but no promises. And since I’m a seasoned veteran of film festivals, I have no problem seeing a movie on my own.
If you have ideas about what you'd like to see / do in this group, let me know!
PS -- I live south, so it's unlikely I will schedule anything at Alamo Lakeline. (Sorry.) I'll try not to do Slaughter since that's the other extreme. But South Lamar and Village locations are definitely fair game. And also AFS, as I mentioned.
