GitKB: Distributed Knowledge Graph + Texas Ready AI | 2-30Min Talks

Two Talks:

  1. GitKB: Distributed Knowledge Graph
  2. TRAIGA: Texas Responsible Artificial Intelligence Governance Act

Speakers:

  1. Matt Walters, Founder at GitKB
  2. Steven Swernofsky, JD | President at IP Office Hours

Descriptions:

  1. GitKB is a git-like distributed knowledge graph protocol with sparse sync and checkout semantics, enabling agents and their humans to work on all the world’s knowledge — a few documents at a time.
  2. Is Your AI Texas-Ready?
The Texas Legislature is at it again.
There's another AI law on the books, this time from Texas. They claim it is a business-friendly. But "business-friendly" doesn't mean consequence-free. TRAIGA (the "Texas Responsible AI Governance Act") sets limits on what your AI can do and backs it up with serious penalties.
The good news is that compliance is mostly about documentation, not design. Steve Swernofsky breaks down exactly what TRAIGA requires, what it doesn't, and what engineers need to do about it. And in plain English, no law degree required.

Info
Austin Deep Learning Journal Club is group for committed machine learning practitioners and researchers alike. The group typically meets every first Tuesday of each month to discuss research publications. The publications are usually the ones that laid foundation to ML/DL or explore novel promising ideas and are selected by a vote. Participants are expected to read the publications to be able to contribute to discussion and learn from others. This is also a great opportunity to showcase your implementations to get feedback from other experts.
