7:00pm - Central Timezone Zoom Meetup

Austin DUG is collaborating with other Drupal meetups in the Central Timezone on a quarterly Zoom-based meetup for one hour in the middle of our respective in-person meetups.

After some introductions, we'll hear from Matt Glaman (mglaman): "Update Day 2 at DrupalCon Vienna: Drupal Canvas and AI news".

Then our main feature "A Most Accommodating Module: How the Charts Module is a Microcosm of Drupal" will be presented by Daniel Cothran (andileco), from JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. The presentation will reflect on Drupal's flexibility to accommodate a wide range of possible workflows and use-cases, using the Charts module as an example. He will demonstrate at least seven ways to generate the same chart and discuss the benefits and drawbacks of the various approaches. He'll also zoom out to discuss some of the wider implications of this flexibility, including the challenges to document, maintain, and promote Drupal's features. Daniel is among the top 60 Drupal contributors and maintains many important contributed modules on Drupal.org.

Along with other in-person meetups in our timezone, we'll join the Zoom to watch as a group. The Zoom will also be available for remote attendees to join. Then, after the presentation, we'll go back offline to discuss.

For those joining remotely, details to join the Zoom will be shared with those who RSVP here on Meetup.com.

You can participate in the planning of this quarterly collaboration in #us-central-timezone.

Let's get you on the agenda! Please post a message in #austin-texas with your lightning talk, longer talk, demo, etc. for a future meetup.
