Details

Awesome hike around the cliffs of Lake Georgetown to where a natural spring feeds several small waterfalls!

Falls should be great with the expected rain. Nice weather forecasted for Sat.

This is a 5.8 mile out-and-back trail snaking along the banks of Lake Georgetown. The trailhead is located in Cedar Breaks Park. It's just to the left after you go through the gate.

The fee situation seems to change every time I go there. Sometimes there's a sign to pay for parking via app (which I've never done and always been fine) Usually it's free to enter if you're hiking. There is lots of parking right outside the gate that is always free. You can always park out there and walk in for free if they tell you there's a fee and you don't want to pay it. I've done it both ways.

Either way tell the attendants you are just there to hike.

Once through the gate, make the first left into the parking lot for the trailhead.

We wait 10 minutes past the posted time and then we move out.

We will hike this at a brisk pace...close to 3mph. So we should be done in two hours.

After there are several local places we can go for food & drinks if interested.

We hike kind of briskly (a little under 3 mph) and we don't take a ton of breaks. So if you are really out of shape this probably isn't isn't your hike. There are lots of groups that go slower.

But if you're a reasonably athletic hiker you will have a great time.

Let's have fun. Make new friends. And get some exercise.

We usually go for mexican food after. The place has outdoor seating and is dog friendly with adult beverages.
