Hey hikers,
Please join us for a morning hike of the scenic Lost Pines Trail in Bastrop State Park. Please arrive at the trailhead at 9:00 AM sharp so we can get an early start. The weather forecast calls for rain, so please come prepared with your rain jacket and water resistant footwear. The trail should take about four hours at a pace of 3 m.p.h., though we will stop for breaks and to observe the scenery. Terrain is mostly flat, though the hike is meant to be challenging. Please bring plenty of water and snacks for the route.
Bastrop State Park charges an entry fee of $5 per adult.
This event is RAIN OR SHINE. Please dress accordingly!
Bring your binoculars for birdwatching! π¦π¦
After the hike we will get lunch at a nearby restaurant, e.g. Neighbors Kitchen and Yard.

Experience this 11.7-mile loop trail near Bastrop, Texas. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a popular trail for birding and hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are August through May. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. This is one of the most popular trails in the area due to its scenic nature and variety of landscapes to explore. This is the longest backcountry trail in Bastrop State Park and travels through a combination of forested hillsides to open meadows. Along the southern portion of the trail, visitors will pass Fehr's Overlook, which is a historic CCC shelter that gives great views of the park.
