Whether you're a beginner looking for easy trails or a seasoned hiker chasing new challenges, you'll find good company here. Lake Georgetown - Full 26-mile Loop Backpacking Trip
This backpacking trip will be a full 26-mile loop around Lake Georgetown!
We will meet at 8am on Saturday, September 27th, at the Cedar Breaks trailhead at Lake Georgetown. On Day 1, we'll hike counterclockwise, approximately 15 miles, and camp at Tejas Camp (I have reserved the group site for September 27-28.). We finish the loop on Day 2 by hiking 11 more miles to Cedar Breaks trailhead.
Note, if you plan to park and leave a car at Cedar Breaks trailhead, you will need to buy daily use passes for September 27th and 28th: https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/d589d86b-7acd-11eb-aa53-7a66f0569cfb/order .
Everyone starts on the Waitlist for this event. To participate in this event, I'll need to have hiked with you before or vetted your backpacking experience.

Pfield/Gilleland Creek Trail - Pflugerville Deutschen Pfest

Enjoy a short hike/walk to Pflugerville Deutschen Pfest!
Because the Gilleland Creek Trail will not allow access from Gilleland Creek Pool to Pfluger Park before Deutschen Pfest opens, the plan for this event has changed from its original posting. Here is the new plan:
We will meet at Pfield (1440 W. Pecan St. in Pflugerville) at 9am on Saturday, October 18th. Pfield is where you can park for free and take a shuttle to the event. However, instead of taking a shuttle, we will hike/walk to the entrance of Deutschen Pfest. We'll walk along Swenson Farms Blvd. until it connects with the Gilleland Creek Trail, then take the Gilleland Creek Trail into Deutschen Pfest. The walk will only be 2 -to- 3 miles. (Yes, this event is more about having fun at Deutschen Pfest than the hike!) If you wanted to skip the walk and take a shuttle to the entrance to meet the larger group, that's totally fine for this event.
Bring a lawn chair! We'll set up our chairs near the stage as a group. I plan to stay most of the day to watch live music, but you are welcome to leave anytime. You can either take a shuttle back to your car parked at Pfield or walk back to the parking lot.
Gates are cashless. You can purchase tickets ahead of time online or bring a credit or debit card to make your purchase at the gate. If you purchase a 2025 Deutschen Pfest T-shirt ahead of time or have a Pfun Run T-shirt, you receive admission wearing your shirt! If purchasing online, a general admission ticket for Saturday = $16.27. The tshirt = $21.58.
