Violet Crown Trail - Zilker Trailhead toward 360 Trailhead

This hike will be an approximate 6-mile hike of the Violet Crown Trail in Austin, TX. We will meet at 9am on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, at the Zilker Park Violet Crown Trailhead (near the Beverly Sheffield Zilker Hillside Theater), and hike approximately 3 miles (to where the trail intersects Barton Creek, just short of the 360 Trailhead). We'll turn around and hike back towards the Zilker Park Trailhead.

Please be aware the parking lots within Zilker charge $3.00 per hour for parking. If you have ideas for parking alternatives and/or carpooling, please feel free to comment on the event.

I would suggest two lunch ideas: Option 1) On the return hike, take a quick detour to eat at Tacodeli. (For anyone who wants to swim in Barton Springs pool after the hike, this would be a great option.) However, there would still be about one more mile of hiking after eating at Tacodeli to return to the trailhead. Option 2) Meet at Chuy's after the hike to eat lunch.
