Lake Georgetown - Hike & Campout - Cedar Breaks to Tejas Camp

This is an ideal hike for beginning backpackers (and a recommended conditioning/qualifying event for a full-loop backpacking trip around Lake Georgetown that will be scheduled for September 27-28)!

We will hike with backpacking gear from Cedar Breaks trailhead to Tejas Camp, approximately 11 miles, and camp overnight at the group site at Tejas (I have reserved the group site for September 6-7). We will not continue hiking after the campout - campers will return home the morning of September 7th.

The group reservation at Tejas allows for up to 25 campers and 5 vehicles at Tejas Camp. We will need to use a car shuttle system to get everyone to the starting point at Cedar Breaks trailhead. Let's meet at 9am on 9/6/25 at the Tejas Camp trailhead. Myself, and hopefully a few more volunteers, will begin shuttling hikers to the Cedar Breaks trailhead. Cars left at Cedar Breaks will need to pay for a daily use pass ( https://www.recreation.gov/activitypass/d589d86b-7acd-11eb-aa53-7a66f0569cfb/order ). We should get everyone shuttled to the Cedar Breaks trailhead and be ready to hike by 10am on Saturday, 9/6/25.

On Sunday morning, 9/7/25, we'll need a few volunteers with cars at Tejas to shuttle people back to their cars that were left at Cedar Breaks.
