On Thursday next week (November 18th 6.30 CST) we'll be launching the Austin Leaders in Tech series with our first meetup entitled ‘the future of health’. We'll be joined by esteemed panelists Sue Tripathi, Patrick Kelly, Dr. Ashish Basuray and Dr. Monica Berrondo. Topics of discussion will range from: Innovations in healthcare and medicine, AI & Machine Learning capabilities and moral / ethical considerations in their implementation, leadership within healthcare and more.

Patrick Kelly (https://www.linkedin.com/in/pmichaelkelly/) - Patrick Kelly brings more than 20 years of experience working across healthcare companies, consulting firms and start-ups. Throughout his career he has focused on helping independent providers transition from volume-based to value-based care. Prior to joining his current company, MPOWERHealth, Kelly held roles as a technology leader in several companies, including Stratifi Health, Loopback Analytics and Phytel (now IBM Watson Health). With a breadth of expertise in advanced technology and cutting-edge solutions, Kelly is driving the tools and infrastructure to connect data from every corner of musculoskeletal care, allowing for better insight into cost efficiency and quality outcome improvements. Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Business Administration with a focus on management information systems from Texas A&M University.

Dr. Ashish Basuray (https://www.linkedin.com/in/abasuray/) - Dr. Ashish Basuray boasts super impressive credentials - a PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry and just shy of 20 years experience in the Healthtech space. Ashish currently works for Firstlook AI who in simple terms, convert messy healthcare data into actionable operational, financial and patient outcomes. He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Northwestern University, where he completed his PhD and Post-Doctoral Fellowship.

Sue Tripathi Ph.D (https://www.linkedin.com/in/st825/) – Healthcare executive with 25+ years experience in data analytics, data assessments, maturity models, management and governance, use of AI/ML, NLP for predictive modeling, cloud and digital transformation. Strategic and operations focused with a deep background in consulting, population health, clinical ops, life sciences, lean process and quality improvement, project and organizational change management. Deep expertise in value based-care, health equity (SDoH), design thinking, frameworks and models. Experience in Medicare, Medicaid, health plans/payors, providers, health systems, contract and account management, RFP planning and capture management.

Dr. Monica Berrondo (https://www.linkedin.com/in/monicaberrondo/), Ph.D., is an entrepreneur, scientist, and software engineer. Her expertise lies in using computational approaches to complex scientific problems, in particular, using algorithms for drug discovery and protein design. She is the founder and CEO of Macromoltek, a biotech company using innovative methods to improve research outcomes and reducing the cost associated with drug discovery through computational modeling. Dr. Berrondo began working on the drug discovery process in high school, when she used computational modelling to predict biological processes.
