The highest tropical ice-covered mountain range in the world, the Cordillera Blanca is part of the spectacular Andes that form the spine of South America. A mecca for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, the region boasts over 50 peaks that exceed 15,000 feet, 700 glaciers and 300 lakes. It is a region of immense beauty and wonder.

During this trip we will hike to Churup Lake (14,600 ft), and climb Mateo Pk (16,896 ft), Mt Pisco (18,838 ft), and Tocllarahu (19,796 ft)
Our guide will be an IFMGA certified guide, with up to three climbers roped per guide.
We arrive in Lima and stay in a hotel on Day 1. Then on Day 2 fly to Huaraz, which will be our home base in between climbs.
Day 3 Churup Lake Acclimatization Hike - Our guide will pick us up and drive us to Huascaran National Park, where we'll hike about 3 hours to a 14,600 ft high turquoise lagoon at the base of Churup Peak. Then we hike back to the trailhead and drive back to Huaraz.
Day 4 Full Day Nevado Mateo Climb (16,896 ft) - we will start at 3:30 am from the hotel, and return to the hotel after the approximately 6 hour climb plus drive time
Day 5 Hike to Pisco Refugio - We drive 3 hours to Cebollapampa at 12,800 ft, where we'll meet the donkeys and their drivers that will help carry our gear on the 3 hr hike to the Refugio at 15,321 ft.
Day 6 Summit Pisco (18,838 ft) - We'll have an early 'breakfast' and depart at 1 am for the summit. After about 10 to 11 hours, we'll return to the refugio for a big dinner, and spend the night here a 2nd night.
Day 7 Return to Huaraz hotel
Day 8 Rest Day in Huaraz
Day 9 Ishinca Refugio - We drive to Lake Cochapampa at 11,811 ft, where we'll meet the mules and their drivers that will help carry our gear on the 5 to 6 hr hike to the Refugio at 14,271 ft
Day 10 Hike to Morraine Camp (16,404 ft) - After lunch we begin hiking to our high camp, where we will sleep in tents. 5 to 6 hr hike carrying our own gear, but not group gear such as tents and cooking items.
Day 11 Summit Tocllarahu (19,796 ft) - Alpine Start for this 12 hour moderately difficult climb. This climb has lower glacier slopes of about 45 degrees, and a shorter, steeper upper slope of about 70 degrees with a fixed rope. The guides will navigate around crevasses and other hazards to keep us safe. We'll return to the refugio for a celebratory dinner, and stay another night at the refugio.
Day 12 Return to Huaraz
Day 13 fly back to Lima
Day 14 Fly home
Costs
-Guide service includes IFMGA professional guides, transportation to/from Huaraz to hikes and climbs, lodging in refugios and tents, meals (breakfast and dinner) at refugios and tents - $1790 USD

-Hotels in Lima and Huaraz ($171 total for Huarza hotels plus your choice in Lima before and after the climbing portion of the trip)
