Improvisation - Pure and simple or pure and complex

Hey Everybody! The improv session is finally going to take place!

It will be held at my house on Saturday, December 30 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.

A bit about me and improv: I know nothing about improv and am not a proficient enough musician to do any improv.

This means we will be looking to other people for leadership and inspiration.

What I will be doing: I will read about improv and various accompaniment styles. I will prepare a pdf file with some basics. I’ll post online, send y’all a link and then start us off. We’ll take turns setting up the music.

We will work around the circle: Each person will have at least one turn to tell the rest of us what to do.

I’m also posting this on the discussion board for Austin Music Connection. I’m hoping people will comment and help make this both a success and an evening to remember.
