Help Clean Up a Defunct Nursery—and Get a Few Native Plants for Your Prairie!

Details
You must register for this event on GivePulse.
One of Central Texas's more established native plant nurseries, McNeal Growers, closed this summer after operator Pat McNeal died. To recruit a new tenant, the landowner must first scrape the growing area clean—but he doesn't want to lose the remaining plants. To him, they represent "my best friend's life's work."
Come help move the salvageable plants out of harm's way, and then pick out some to take home for your own prairie. Use the link above to register for a 3-hour shift. Late Friday night I will email more instructions as well as directions to the nursery to all who have registered by then.
Want to get some plants but can't help with the cleanup? Register for one of the one-hour Buying Only shifts. Arrive at the assigned time, peruse the available plants, pick out the ones you'd like to buy, and negotiate a price with John Gleason. (John was Pat's silent partner.)
This event will repeat Sunday, Sept. 29.
