DevOps Exchange ft. Five.AI, HealthHero & Publicis Sapient

Details
Welcome to the first DevOps Exchange Austin!
To mark the occasion, we have an awesome event scheduled for July, with talks from the UK's leading Autonomous Vehicle Software company, FIVE, a look into DevOps within the world of medical technology at Healthhero, and building huge scale complex Cloud platforms at Publicis.Sapient.
The three talks are below, and please join for what looks another great event.
Full agenda:
Talk 1: "Lessons Learnt Teaching an AV Company to DevOps"
Andy Cowley, Engineering Manager @ Five
Almost two years ago, we shared the very start of our journey towards developer autonomy and DevOps culture at Five. We've learnt a lot in those two years about what's worked for us, what hasn't and what probably would have done if we'd done it differently.
Bio: Andy is an Engineering Manager at Five, where he looks after the Foundation group, providing internal platforms to support development. He's a veteran sysadmin and infrastructure engineer, passionate about automation and bringing together developers, engineers, and the infrastructure which binds them, whether they like it or not.
Talk 2: "Scaling All of the Things"
James Betteley, Director of Technology @ Publicis Sapient
Building an enterprise-grade GCP platform within a large Bank is obviously very complex and challenging. The questions around security hardening and regulatory compliance are just the tip of the iceberg. In this session, I’ll run through our approach to scaling “all of the things” (from Istio and Spinnaker to how we scale Cloud Skills). I’ll also chat about some of the less technical challenges – like creating the right Cloud Engineering Culture and “what the hell is a Cloud Centre of Excellence?”
Bio: James is a Digital Transformation Consultant at PublicisSapient London with a focus on helping Financial Services organisations leverage Public Cloud, DevOps and Agile best practices to create modern, scalable business platforms. His current project involves the rollout of a large scale public cloud platform (GCP) within one of the UK's largest Banks. He lives in rural west Wales where his DevOps skills make him the least useful person in his local community. Find James on Twitter: @jamesbetteley
Talk 3: "DevOps: how to build and scale"
Richard Haigh, CTO @ HealthHero
This session goes from the philosophical to the practical – why do you want DevOps, how should you structure it and scale it as the tech team grows, and how can you tell if it is working.
BIO: Rich has spent more than 20 years in high-growth tech and has had a front row seat to the industry’s journey to DevOps. He has worked in consulting, financial services, online gaming and food delivery. He is currently Chief Technology Officer at HealthHero: Simplifying Healthcare, Improving Lives.

We're looking forward to seeing you all there on the 28th!
All the best,
DevOps Exchange Team
