Ancient Caves brings science and adventure together as it follows paleoclimatologist Dr. Gina Moseley on a mission to unlock the secrets of the Earth's climate in the most unlikely of places: caves.
Moseley and her team go where very few humans will ever go, revealing the incredible lengths scientists will go to study the unknown.

This documentary is 40 minutes in length, showing from 1:00PM to 1:40 PM. After the film, let's stroll along the Capitol Mall to the Texas Chili Parlor for your choice of late lunch or snack and cold beverage.
Itinerary:
12:30 PM:
Let's meet just inside the Bullock Museum main rotunda entrance at 12:30 PM; then, we can purchase our tickets at the Ticketing Booth in the museum's lobby.
PARKING:
Parking can be a challenge in downtown Austin, so plan to arrive early to find parking. On Sundays, parking is free at the parking meters along San Jacinto Street and 17th street. The museum parking garage offers only a full day rate at $15.
Carpooling is encouraged. Comment below if you are interested in carpooling and share your area of town. Carpooling is not arranged by Sierra Club.
PURCHASE IMAX TICKETS:
Purchase tickets in-person at the Ticketing Booth in the museum's main rotunda lobby upon arrival for the 1:00 PM showing of ANCIENT CAVES.
Ticket prices: Adult (18-64 years) $10, Senior (65+) $9, Youth (4-17) $8.

Tip: Consider becoming a Bullock Museum Member to get free admission to IMAX documentaries all year long. In order to save on the Ancient Caves documentary, you must purchase your membership prior to the day you see the film (if purchased at the same time, you will be charged for the documentary). After purchasing tickets, we'll head straight to the IMAX theater and sit together for the 1:00 PM showing. (Running time: 1:00 PM - 1:40 PM)
Note: It can be very cold in the museum and theater, even during the summer, so consider bringing a warm layer for comfort.
1:40 PM:
Optional: After the film, let's stroll along the Capitol Mall for a
10-minute walk to the Texas Chili Parlor for a late lunch or snack and cold beverage. Texas Chili Parlor is located at 1409 Lavaca St, Austin, TX 78701. Consider bringing a hat and drinking water for protection from the heat.
