Austin TouchDesigner Meetup v13
Details
💙 Join us for the thirteenth Austin TouchDesigner Meetup at dadaLab on Wednesday, September 30th, from 7:30–9:30 PM! This meetup is all about bringing together the local TouchDesigner community to connect, share, and get inspired.
We’ll feature talks and demos from creative technologist David Sydiongco about his recent live visual tour with Rival Consoles, and experiential designer Richard Ruiz. Learn more about David and Richard below!
We are continuing our Show & Tell Sandbox—a casual space where anyone can bring their laptop to share projects, get feedback, or collaborate with fellow TouchDesigner enthusiasts. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just getting started, come hang out, learn something new, and help shape this growing creative community!
David Sydiongco builds generative systems in TouchDesigner that turn music and ideas into live visual experiences, designed to respond and evolve in real time, never the same way twice. His work is about finding solutions for the technical and creative challenges that come up in live event production, and building systems flexible enough to hold up in front of a live audience. He works with agencies, production companies, and brands on show creation, live event production, and immersive experiences, from concept and systems design to on-site execution.
Richard Ruiz is an architecturally-trained Senior 3d Experiential Designer for international experiential marketing agency, George P Johnson. One of the major contributors leading the agency’s North America Creative Training Workshop series, Richard has been in the live events industry for over 10 years and has contributed to stages for Electric Daisy Carnival, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle and the MTV VMAs. Previous clients also include Honda, Acura, Genesis, Audi, Pokemon, Activision, IBM, Sony, Google, Salesforce and Snowflake to name a few. A firm practitioner in finding the net positive through any design process and outcome, his skillset and tech-stack are as varied as the scale and scope of his projects. Richard will share how some moments and case studies in his career experiences shaped his belief in perpetual learning and designer cross-pollination.
